Over a dinner with friends, a simple question from Kyle, one of our co-founders, set the wheels in motion: "Is there a social media platform specifically tailored for artists?" We brainstormed, but nothing fit the bill. This led us on a journey of research and conversations with artists and venues in our circle. What we discovered was a fragmented and outdated recruitment system in the music industry.
While sectors like influencer marketing, acting, and gaming had evolved with technology, optimizing content creation and talent acquisition, music seemed left behind. The industry relied heavily on luck or word-of-mouth for recruitment. Furthermore, the algorithm-driven nature of traditional social media platforms often buried new music content, leaving many talented artists in the shadows.
Recognizing the struggles of our friends in the music industry, and realizing this was a shared problem for all emerging artists, we saw an opportunity to make a difference. This is how Musync was born.
